2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Have you ever seen God for who He really is? Have you ever had a real, meaningful conversation with Him? Moses did. There is a scene in the Old Testament where Moses was priveledged to join God in an ongoing conversation project. Whenever Moses was sent on his way from the Lord, the experience produced a glowing-type-skin condition. In fact, the people of Israel were a bit freaked by the experience so Moses would help them by wearing a veil to cover up the glow. Each time Moses would turn to the Lord, go to the Lord, he would remove the veil. Each time he turned away, the veil would be put back on.
Every time I submit my activity to the leading of the Holy Spirit I find amazing freedom and peace, a lifted veil if you will, that seems to only be found in the Lord because of the generous sacrifice of Jesus in the cross. When I pursue God's business, when I go where God is, when I care about the things God cares about, I become more like Him because my relationship with Jesus allows my access. When I discover God's character traits in scripture, when I practice the principles, when I see how Jesus did it, when I copy his behaviors, my person changes because life fits for me.
When I realize that God wants only the best for me and I consider that He is in fact the best there is in my life, then settling for anything less than the best is settling for second best every time. When I see His best solution applied to my life, I step into His presence and allow his consumation of my life into a seamlessness of spiritual interactivity. When I follow Him, I get lost in Him. I become transformed by God's grace, each day, little by little. I begin to glow.
Have you ever seen God for who He really is? Would you like to see Him in action?
Questions:
1. Where have you found God's activity this week?
2. How is this activity transforming your spiritual person into the likeness of Jesus?
