Grow up!

Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”


Sometimes I forget that Jesus actually had to go through the growing-up process. For some reason I just think that he was a baby, then a boy, then a man…end of story. I forget that his growth was just like every human being…except…he was God. Confusing sometimes to say the least but looking at this verse reminds me that he had to grow (and probably struggle) in every area of his life…and for what it’s worth…it encourages me…and I can’t really tell you why. Let’s look at the verse again.

And Jesus grew….

in wisdom…..intellectually.
in stature…..physically and emotionally.
in favor with God….spiritually.
in favor with man….socially.

How are we taking care of ourselves in these areas of life? The Bible makes it a point to tell us that Jesus grew in these areas. How does that affect the way you take care of yourself. I don’t really have an answer or any big insight on this one…but it sure has got my thinking process going. Maybe I’ll get back to you. Blessings. Paul
